Quarterly Review

The Cubs are 46 games into the season, just past the 1/4 mark, so it seems as good a time as any to reflect on the past two months of games.  The season started with the Cubs setting a record for mediocrity, which is odd even for the Cubs.  During the first two weeks of the season the Cubs hit records of 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, 9-9, and 10-10 before hitting a four game loosing streak.  Today they sit in 4th place in the Central Division, 7 games out.

Deng, These Bulls Rose Fast! You Noah It!

The last time the NBA MVP played for Chicago was 1997-98.  The last time the Bulls had more than 50 wins (and it just happened to also be 62 wins) was 1997-98, the same year they last won their division and took the first seed in the Eastern Conference.  The last time the NBA Coach of the Year worked in Chicago was 1995-96, the same year the Executive of the Year award was last in Chicago.  1995-96 just happened to be the year the Bulls Blasted through the Regular Season to a still record 72 wins. » Read the rest of this entry «

A Zionist PASSOVER

My last post was very up-beat and happy.  The next day was less so.  In continuing my busy Ultimate Frisbee schedule Saturday I was at the Junior National Team’s practice in Tel Aviv.  It was fun, and I was having a good time working with the kids.  I was starting to get back into a bit of a rhythm and feeling good about my return from injury.  That’s when the fates stepped in and yanked away that fun.  While doing a simple zone-D drill, I was cutting as part of the offense.  Just a simple cut to space and clear out, except for the last time. » Read the rest of this entry «
